Hoshi was trying to be stoic today. "Well, Gunther, I don't know when I'll get to see you again," she said. "Miss Connell told me that I can have my job back in the fall, but if things go well with Starfleet this summer, they may want to keep me there."

She was totally appalled when Gunther started cheering over her leaving.

Grilled Asparagus and Lamb Kabobs with Mustard Aioli

[Please wait for some OCD. Done! ETA: Please specify if you're coming in before or after the gremlin bite! The bananas will also be running in and out of open posts in town.]

Katchoo had coffee and a muffin when she came in to work, and possibly diabolical plans for scaring the new kids. Maaaaaaaaaaaybe.

The coffee and muffin were concrete realities, at least for as long as they lasted. The occasional smirk that crossed her face could have had other interpretations.

[OOC: I seem to have no inspiration today, no. The OCD is too busy watching the History Channel to do anything else, and the continued heavy SP disclaimer applies today.]

They were going to try again. The graduates were all leaving - if there was any justice in the world, the island would let them pass again, back to where they belonged. Home, where he hoped Morgana was safe, that no threat had come up on the people while he was away, and that his father hadn't called another war upon them.

(It was that, or Arthur was going to have to figure out how to strike some truce with Leto, and the thought was already giving him a headache)

He held his horse by the lead as he came up on the causeway. He steeled himself. "We're leaving," he told it. And by extension, Merlin.

[[ thread with arthur locked to one, but open if anyone else needs to use the causeway at this hour ]]

Dinah's first day at work started out with the sudden appearance of bananas and new bright flowers. Everywhere.

So she added a note to the sign:

Covent Garden Flowers

Eliza Doolittle, prop.
Fresh flowers and fruit! from nosegays to bouquets!
Delivery available upon request.

Covent Garden Flowers is Open.

[ooc: Continuing banana saga down to [livejournal.com profile] bridge_carson, and also [livejournal.com profile] thismaskiwear, who told me about banana blossoms]

Today, Murdock was actually armed while in the office and gladly taking out the ... filing cabinets.

They were a threat, ya know. Just standing there in their corner, smug like that.

It may have been turning into a full-scale epic battle, including ducking and rolling behind desks and chairs, which by the way, office chairs totally suck for cover.

(open! beware flying nerf darts! and totally open for any bananas, heehee!)

Millie was excited about the new students arriving. She always liked to see fresh faces on the island.

She bustled around setting out drinks and pastries for any customers, then opened the store.

It was kind of weird being here as a graduate. Probably meant she had to make some decision about where she was going to go next. So, between customers, Peyton culd be found looking up record companies and seeing if any of them were looking for interns.

Another day with the horses at The Gig.

Helen was happy.

Sarah had done good work the night before. The hostages were home to their families, the aliens were gone. It wasn't the same as CIA work, but it was close enough that she at least felt less than completely useless as she opened the comics store this morning.

She took a moment to freshen and rotate the stock, then settled behind the counter with her laptop to work on a field report and the syllabus for her class.

[OOC; Open shop, no OCD.]

Yes, there were probably other bigger events happening on the island right now but right now Dale was dealing with a more immediate problem.

Bananas.

They were everywhere in his office. So much so he barely had space on his desk for coffee and pie.

And apparently Dale wasn't the only one having this issue.

"Yes, Ma'am. The bananas. I understand, Ma'am, but you're not the only one with bananas randomly showing up either. I believe it's one of those things. What's that? Aliens? What kind of aliens. Uh-huh. Shape shifting aliens. I'm sure. Perhaps they're the one responsible for the bananas. I'll look into it ma'am."

Dale hung up the phone and went for another refill on coffee. It was going to be one of those days.

[What? It's a theme! Open!]

It probably wasn't the best idea to go out drinking last night. Why? Hangover.

Lindsay had a massive headache and any loud noise made her head feel like it was vibrating. And apparently "loud" included typing on her keyboard.

It was going to be a long day.

Annja was both cheerful and contemplative when she got to work.

Cheerful because well, nothing bad had happened at graduation like she had been told to expect. Contemplative because, graduation had happened and people would be leaving. Although, new people would also be arriving.

It was also hard for to her to believe that she had been here for almost a year.

In honor of the fact that she was feeling a bit puckish, Annja made a small change to the sign again.

Savannah got to work early...

...and immediate proceeded to reorganize the entire store. She was working with single-minded concentration on everything she was doing.

The new layout probably made sense to some people. Okay, it probably would if they had been gremlin bit or were drunk.

She was a very determined and organized person. Poor Sean.

Nast's is open. Beware the mess.

Priestly came in to work with an important announcement. "We're making sushi today!"

The cook, dishwasher, and busboy exchanged looks. The cook looked back at Priestly. "I don't know how --"

"Sushi!"

"But I --"

"Sushi!"

"Fine." The cook threw his apron at Priestly. "You cook it."

Priestly decided he should have thought of this months ago.

Today's specials
Inexpertly made sushi
Hot dogs

Luke's was open.

The Fruitcake exhibit was still up, but that wasn't what had Eve feeling all randomly weird. No, it was the fact that she was working as a graduate.

She was easily weirded out at the strangest of times.

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

It was easy to get an open space and send out for stuff; setting up the shop was another thing though. Getting the skateboards up, the various bikes in, and the clothing racks organized seemed to take her forever. Haley didn't mind the work, but she was just anxious to open up.

With a graffiti style sign finally set above the shop and an amazing window display, she was ready. Haley wasn't exactly sure how many customers she would get, but she figured that there had to be, at least, a couple other wheel crazy freaks like her.

So, she's behind the counter, browsing through a magazine and sipping a ginger ale. The door's open, Motorhead's greatest hits are coming through the store speakers, and air conditioning is cooling the whole store off nicely.

Given the events of the week, Robin was working her way through a bottle of Scotch.

(Okay -- let's be honest. She didn't need a reason to drink. But when she had one, she was taking it, thank you.)

However, in a fit of whimsy, she was also playing with the tiny umbrellas -- putting them in her hair, stacking them, putting them in all the drinks.

Well. "Fit of drunkenness" might be better.

[look who's aroundish for once!]
