Pixie Dust, Friday

Jenny opened up Pixie Dust on Friday and stuck a hand-lettered sign in the window (on orange paper, so it was festive):

10% Off Costumes

Then she dragged the racks of tacky crap she'd been meaning to send back or burn out from the back and stuck more signs, these reading simply, "COSTUMES" on them. Some of them even appeared to be actual costumes, so maybe she could get rid of some of this stuff with minimal effort and turn a profit. Win win!

Pixie Dust is open, except, of course, for during the lunch hour, when the OUT TO FREE LUNCH sign is up.

Lily was in the store early, figuring today would be another slow day and that meant she could work on some doodles, etc. in the art store and no one would care. Like anyone cared anyway, but that was not the point.

And it being the day before Halloween, she could work on art while snacking on candy. There was no bad here.

Hurley didn't anticipate a rush on flowers for Halloween.

So he was seated and reading a magazine about video games today. He had to admit, the 'Basements and Hyenas' game sounded like a lot of fun.

As people arrived to the tables in the picnic area, they might have noticed that in addition to the usual snacks and drinks, there were markers, colored pencils, and pieces of paper waiting to be used.

"Good afternoon," Morgana said, once everyone had gotten settled. "We've all given a great deal of thought to potential Fandom-specific issues - what to do when you wake up a different gender, how to deal with friends being turned into animals, etc. - and while that means that we are well-prepared, we thought that perhaps it would useful to try to ensure that others are at least thinking about these things as well. What we would like to do today is make safety posters for Fandom, to hang up in the dorms and perhaps in the town as well." She hadn't known what Francine was talking about at first, but once she'd seen a few, she found them rather helpfully amusing. "I believe we have enough supplies for everyone, whenever you all would like to begin."

Dite's Decadent Delights, Friday

The store had been closed on Wednesday, but Aphrodite had come in for a few minutes to put in an order for candy. After all, it was Halloween, and while she hadn't seen a lot of young children on the island, there were the kids from the school and it was Fandom. So, candy it was, of all different kinds, and there would be unpacking today so things were ready for tomorrow.

And it had to be done today, because she wouldn't be here tonight. Tonight she was meeting Cupid and his family at the Happiest Place on Earth to spend the night before the Scariest Night of the Year.

But for now, there were two things to do. First, organize the candy and get it into bowls.

Second, figure out what her costume would be.

"No, I will not dress as a fairy godmother, Hercules, I don't care what Cupid suggested."

The cat tilted his head at her.

"I don't care if I look good in the costume! I'm not doing it!"

If cats could talk, Hercules probably would have said, "Suuuuuuure."

Liir was pleased enough to be at the book store today and had, in fact, brought Makejoy with him as she had looked at him pitifully this morning. If she wasn't as well behaved as she was, he would have refused her still, but he couldn't see Millie minding that he'd let his massive fluffball sleep on his feet all day behind the counter.

Especially as he always cleaned up the store before heading out anyway.

As such, dog and boy were at work.

Harper was going through some of the vintage costumes she'd found in back and set them on on mannequins. There were just so many cool ideas that she wondered if she wanted to stick with the costume she'd already picked out.

Chloe was sitting behind the counter, looking through one of the new comics that had come in that week. The story -- as far as she was concerned -- was dumb and didn't flow right. However the thing that really bothered her was the substandard art. It made her even more convinced that one day Simon could make a really awesome career as an illustrator.
