Café Fina, Tuesday

The floors were a little soggy. The paint was a little peely. The tables had floated about during the flood and were now entirely rearranged. There might have still been some seaweed clinging to the chairs.
The kitchen staff was still wearing their rubber swim fins, and the cheese grater had decided that hip waders were going to be the next big fad there on the island.
Being a candle, Lumiere could understand their aversion to horrible flooding, but he was wise to their ways and knew well enough that it was all a sort of passive-aggressive revenge for his making them spend all of Monday mopping the floors.

Today's Specials Board reads:
Seaweed Soup, Nori Tempura, Kelp Ice Cream, Irish Moss Fritters

... Most of their fresh vegetable bins happened to be filled with seaweed as well.

(ooc: Fina is open! And, par for the course, I'm working as well. Come in and help yourselves, but today will be yet another minimum interaction day with Lumiere.)

After dragging his sick butt into work, Teddy noticed the giant KRACKEL bar.

Why was there a giant KRACKEL bar? Was this a hallucination brought on by the sickness? Did John and the Twins have a weird thing for the candy?

He shrugged and broke off a piece. Chocolate was healthy, right?

Jane and Apu were mopping out the store still.

CUBE was coming in handy, sliding around the counter, absorbing debris and cleaning it up. It was slow going because CUBE was so little...

Jane almost wished it was back to a 10x10x10 block.

Almost.

Today's Squishy Flavors:
Red, Pine, Lemon

Turtle & Canary is open.

Tuesday
Feast of Saint Salomon
Who's name makes kind of hungry

Still a lot of work to do around the church after the flood, but Rosette wasn't getting much of it done. She was too busy clutching her side in laughter as she had Chrono tell the story about the bots and the rope and the jelly. Again. And it kept getting funnier each time. "Chrono, you dork."

Tori had been lazy for most of the morning, seeing as she didn't have any more classes until Thursday. Finally deciding to get up and do something with herself, Tori though a jog in the park would do her some good.

Outfitted with her mp3 player and dressed in the appropriate running attire, Tori set out for a leisurely jog, no limit on how long the jog would last.

It was a nice day, not too hot, not too cold out either. Nice enough now that the weather had calmed down and it was no longer raining.

[OOC: Open to everyone! Come play!]

Hannelore had finally gotten about three hours of sleep in her bathtub after becoming convinced that her bed might be home to bedbugs the night prior.

As a result, when she opened up the store, she was quite chipper due to all the extra sleep.

[Store info is here. Open, whoo!]

Rose stepped into the Perk and ordered herself a cup of tea. Best thing to use when thinking, since according to the Doctor, it simulates synapses, free radicals and tannises.

The reports she's been getting from Mickey about Wolverhampton were worrying. The activity hadn't stopped and, in fact, was getting worse. She could always consult with the Doctor but she'd rather not, she hadn't relied on him in years and Rose would rather take out the Doctor as the last option.

Of all the places, though she wondered why it had to be Wolverhampton, she tapped her pen on the file since Darlig Ulv Stranden she's been rather wary of anything associated with wolves.

She took out her mobile and came to a decision, "Mickey? Yeah, it's me, I'm making a trip back to London, expect me by tomorrow. I know I'm still on sabbatical and I'll get on the first zeppelin back here but these readings are starting to worry me. Right, see you."

(ooc: Open for all Perk needs!)

Aeryn might have spent more time at the junkyard if John hadn't said it was a good idea to get out. She's still not sure about the movies when they could have watched something at home, but she can go out just this once.

The marquee reads:
NOW PLAYING
STICKBUG

It's probably a good thing Aeryn's not paying attention to what it says.

[For John, but open for your Stickbug-watching needs.]

John's got the fire burning in an appropriate fire circle, he's sitting on a blanket surrounded by s'mores stores and supplies, and he's currently playing with his stick not dirty swishing it around and occasionally poking at the logs with it.

[Open for beach party, yo!]

It was cloudy, but blue sky and sunshine could be seen in the breaks. Add that to the warmth of the day (at least compared to recent weeks), and Jack had the perfect idea for how to spend some of Tuesday.

A blanket spread on the sand - with an extra in case of sudden chilly sea breezes - with a box containing some of J,GoB's finest and two sweet, rich coffees sitting beside it, and Jack settled down to wait for River.

He stretched out on his stomach, hands folded under his chin, watching the ocean, mind drifting with the waves.

[ooc: the post is as open as a beach below the wide and flowing sky, because, well, it is a beach beneath the etc etc, but thread with Jack and River locked to them, please and thank you.]

Thanks to Jarod's efforts the other day, the bar is mostly cleaned up.

A little squelchy, but pretty much in order.

Periodically, somebody would reach for a glass or bottle and discover a shell or very drunk fish or sea horse inside.

Fortunately, people in Fandom rarely ordered "fishbowl drinks". So there was some place to put them.

Moist was hunched over a very thick, and judging by the look on his face very boring, book he'd found upstairs, trying to gauge what he was going to have to pay his theoretical employees.

He was fairly certain they wouldn't work for stamps.

In between chapters, he was watching Gladys.

How the crab in the light fixture had escaped his notice yesterday was anybody's guess, but the golem was on top of a ladder trying to fish it out. The ladder was creaking a protest, and the crab was clacking its claws in what Moist assumed was irritation.

It had to be frustrating when its claws simply bounced off the solid stone of the golem.
