It's another night and the graveyard and Mel is doing her patrol thing.

It's unlikely she'll find any vampires or demons to slay, however considering who her traveling companion is she might end up slaying him before the night is through.

Especially if he keeps complaining.

Rutting hell! Will you stop griping already? )

[ooc: Preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] thebluespirit. Not open for interaction but ooc comments are loved. The fact that Mel and Zuko went out on patrol is okay to broadcast but the fact they might have even been slightly cute or even close to being a non-dysfunctional couple is NFB.]

Settled behind the counter, Turtle was in a somber, thoughful mood today. Her arguement with Annette had really sunk into her brain, moved in, and paid off their mortgage; it was also bothering her how much it had effected her. Usually, she could easily shake off the things that blonde bimbo brat said, but...not this time. This time, she seemed to just dig a little too deep.

She found herself, in the idle time between customers, unravelling her braid, running a brush down the long length of her mousey brown hair. Sometimes, she'd look at it, examine it, notice that she had really bad split ends again, but most of the time, she just sort of mindlessly work the brush as she stared off in space. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all. People like Annette had it easy. Her family actually was prestigious, unlike hers, with her mother grasping at every little bit of high society she could with her cheaply manicured nails. Annette was smart, too. Probably had grades infinitely better than Turtle because Turtle never cared about school, anyway. And Annette was pretty. She was blonde and cute and a cheerleader and Turtle was just...Turtle. Money and a braid and a trail of purple shins. She couldn't even shoot a gun and people back home thought she did nefarious things like blowing up coffee shops and stealing.

Not even Tannim saying she was pretty the other day helped. He was just probably trying to make a sale, she realized, because she would have used the exact same topic.

She firmly tied the hairtie around the end of another braid, quickly, mindlessly plaited. Only to be pulled out again in a half hour, repeating the process.

The glittery "Help Wanted!" sign is still in the window.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Emo, Emu, Red.

Turtle & Canary is open!

[[ up early because tomorrow morning I leave for a wedding; will be gone probably until evening EST, if anyone's up to delayed play/slow play. Mod Apu please if you need anything otherwise ]]

Now Showing:

Dixon Hill in The Black Orchid

In a seedy town full of sex and corruption can Dixon Hill uncover the truth behind one of the most shocking crimes of his career? Based on the infamous unsolved murder!

Seely was holding Aravis's hand as they walked up to the theatre, and was totally grinning like a doof. "And here we are," he said.

[The Black Orchid = The Black Dahlia. Dixon Hill = Jean-Luc Picard, kinda. Thread between Aravis and Seely locked to them, but okay for broadcast. Otherwise open. Posted early for great timezone justice!]

Alphonse came and opened the store, feeling much better than he did the day before. Crazy spar match on Thursday made for lots of ow afterwards when you let yourself slip out of practice every so often. He still didn't feel like moving much at the moment, so he set up everything as needed and took the usual spot behind the counter.

[ ooc: so it is 7 am, I think I should go to bed. will pick up pings (if any) when I wake up. whenever that will be. ]

Liz got to the post office on time despite her mun posting this late and set up.

Groovy Tunes, Saturday

Charlie took her notebook in with her to work, and in between playing with the kitties, listening to Back in Black and Josie and the Pussycats back-to-back, she worked on the story she'd written while talking to Karal.

Groovy Tunes is ready to help you find your music.

[ooc: back around 4:30EST, okay for slowplay, feel free to come in and browse or play with the cats.]

Adam had woken up feeling restless and realized it was time to get outside. He decided to go rollerblading in the park. It was something fun to do and it was a way to get in a bit of exercise as well.

It was nice out as Adam went blading through the park and around the pond. And yes, he had made sure to wear a helmet and protective gear, even if it did make him look silly. Better safe than sorry.

[OOC: So very open! I was itching to use this icon... ;) Might be slowplayed in a bit, since people are coming over for a BBQ! And yes, it always said Saturday, I swear!]

Luke's Diner, Saturday

Jude remembered to open the diner on Saturday for once had been, admittedly, reluctant to come to work today. There was the, of course, yay-we-beat-the-bad-guy feelings, but then there was the fact that his girlfriend still couldn't walk on one ankle.

So he was using his powers of awesomeness to create a solution for Rikku that provided food, company, a comfortable seat, and available man boyservant.

Luke's is open, if a bit distracted.

"Here we are," John said, opening the door and letting Ronan in ahead of him.  "Ready for pie?"

After finally getting checked out of the clinic, Phoebe had stopped in to open Caritas for Ellen as she had promised to do.

The zombies were doing their thing and Tino was behind the bar.

"You should be resting," he grumped.

"Promised Ellen I'd cover for her."

"You sit and you do nothing," he warned her. "I'm not having your boyfriends try to kill me because you get hurt."

It was quite possible that she wouldn't be allowed to stay very long.

Another night at the Nest, and Setsuna was actually feeling pretty good tonight. She was trying to be a little impressive when she made her drinks, idly flipping bottles and placing umbrellas like throwing shuriken. Completely with the occasional pose because, if there was anything she'd retained from the other day, it was, giggling slightly, that the pose was very important.

The Devil's Nest is open!

Leo finally remembered he had a shop to run, so, better late than never, Photo Hut is open.

Oh and Leo was making his puppet sing Johnny Cash songs. They take requests, but they're gonna sing anyway.
[identity profile] cantjossme.livejournal.com
It's another night and Mel is once again amoung the gravestones. You'd think that after several weeks of patrolling and finding nothing she'd catch a clue.

Yet here she is. And she brought a friend.

Because if you can't kill vampires you can at least chat.

"So, what's new with you?"

[ooc: for Molly, though the graveyard is open for lurking people who like to hang out with the dead.

On her return from Caritas, Mary spots someone waiting outside the hotel. "Gunther? What are you doing here in Fandom?"

"Oh, Mary, vhat a pleasure it is to see yuh again! Zhat awful new owner decides he want Volfgang Puck as his head chef," cries Gunther. "So vhat am I to do? I have no choice but to call Mister Deline, and that nice man told me that yuh need a chef. So here I am!"

Feeling uneasy, she asks, "Who else knows that you're here? Gunther, you didn't tell anyone that I'm here, did you?"

"No, no! Mister Deline makes me promise not to say nuhthing to nobody, not even to Danny," reassures Gunther.

"Oh, thank goodness," sighs Mary in relief. "Come on in, Gunther. Do you want to see the kitchen?"

[OOC: Gunther is going to the hotel's new NPC chef. He might look familiar to some Fandom residents.]
