Lana opened the store and set out tea and cookies, then settled in with a good book to wait for any customers.

Sitting at a table close to a window, Johnny gazed out as his fingers wrapped around a hot mug of coffee. He woke up feeling pensive this morning. Like something was not right back home. Seriously, he half expected his cell to ring any moment; Sue or Reed calling him to give him bad news. There was an ominous emotion surrounding him, and his mood was certainly a reflection of such.

He hoped the coffee and quiet he was allowing himself, worked to uncurl the tenseness in his shoulders.

It was a hope, at least.

George Michael was mopey. Mary was gone and he was mopey.

Maybe he should visit a strip-club.

Maybe not. Maybe Mary would find out and be upset with him.

Maybe he would go through her lingerie drawer later tonight. You know, just for something to do since he's all mopey and stuff.

Yeah.

The wall mural of crushed CDs was almost done, but there were still some blank patches. Melody was up on a ladder trying to cover them with glitter paint.

Groovy Tunes was open. Today's soundtrack: Men at Work.

Edward may have forgotten that the point of being at the Arms every Tuesday was to work.  He'd completed all the basic tasks needed to open the store, yes, but then he dove into the pile of books he carried down to town with him and now was furiously sketching a possible new transmutation circle into his notebook.

Tom was excited to finally be able to be in charge of a pizza restaurant. OK, perhaps "excited" was inaccurate. "Giddy like a 5-year-old on Christmas" may have come close.

After reassuring his skeptical wife that this was the best step they had taken in their lives and their marriage, he'd arrived bright and early at Fandom to get things ready. For now, things were largely the same as he'd found them, though eventually that could change. He had to resist a sudden urge to bounce as he fired up the pizza ovens, turned on all of the video games, made sure the tables were well-stocked, and dozens of other tasks.

Then, he carried a menu board he'd found to the front of the store, setting it up outside and writing the following carefully.

PIZZA PLANET IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AND NOW HIRING!
See Tom Scavo- that's the man in the orange shirt- to inquire about employment.
Today's Specials:
Barbecue Chicken Pizza
Greek Pizza (sauceless crust with feta cheese, tomatoes and olives)

He then opened the doors wide and settled in to wait.

Pizza Planet is now open for business.

[HI. I'm Shurimon and I'm now an official FH addict. I also play Sky Tate. OCD is forthcoming omg here. Check out this handy infopost to find out how things work. Who is Tom you ask? Why, here's another handy info post.

As usual when the lobby's occupied, there's a Xander behind the counter. The Xander behind the counter today happens to be wearing a birthday present and engaged in an intellectually-challenging game of Dot-Eater-Guy on his laptop. Not that he's a slacker or anything...

Hey, it could be worse. He could be wearing the hat.

[OOC: Open like a thing that is not closed. For the record, the remaining vacancy = one 1-bedroom apartment, should anybody be in need of same.]

In a rather nice change of pace, Turtle Wexler had found herself in a good mood this morning. She'd slept well and she'd slept in; she'd noticed that the market had made a hitch, albeit small, upwards, and the time she'd spent with Jeff yesterday before radio had firmly shaved a good twenty years off the whole thirty-five-and-pushing-a-midlife-crisis thing to remind her that, yes, she was a self-made multimillionaire entrepreneur fledgling lawyer, but she was still, at the end of things, still fifteen. It changed her prospective quite nicely, for the better, and, as she went to the coffee shop with a backpack full of forms and tax documents and business papers, spreading them all out over the table and settling in happily to work on them over a very large cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows, she was even thinking that everything had worked out nicely with the store after all and perhaps she wouldn't even bother with making a deal out of it to Misters Cable and Deadpool, just sort of sweep it under the rug a little for the sake of petty differences.

Assuming that something of the like never happened again, of course. She let out a slight sigh, shifted in her chair, and got back to work on the wonderful sea of papers spread out on the table in front of her.

Michael was a tiny bit late in opening Luke's today, but pretending he hadn't been.

Specials )

Luke's was open.

Sulley was unfortunately impressionable at this age. The fort-like structure that had been made out of cans yesterday was now being rearranged into the shape of a giant Lego block.

Jack was still moping, and reading his notes for class.

He decided to dress himself up in a modified toga-type thing and some cast-off costumes from the shop and create the official King of the Island Nation of Burtonia state photo.

He was bored.

He really shouldn't leave his notes out, with things that say "GO HAVE COMMITMENT-FREE S E X" triple underlined, on the counter.

The zombies were very disturbed by the conversation that was going in the back room right now. And the fact that they couldn't see Donut and Tino just made the whole thing worse.

"Tino, I need you to look at my hose," Donut said.

Tino just stared at Donut for a moment. "Excuse me?"

"My hose," Donut said, lifting up the water hose that was supposed to be behind the bar. "I stuck a cherry in there to see if it'd made cherry flavored water, which it does, and now I can't get it out. Can't you, I don't know, just suck it out?"

"I'm not putting my mouth anywhere near your hose," Tino said.

"I'm wearing a helmet, it's not like I can do it myself!" Donut argued. "Well, how about you stick your finger in the hole and wiggle it around a bit?"

"I'm leaving," Tino said. He walked out and noticed the zombies gawking at him. "What are you deadbeats looking at?"

The zombies quickly tried to make themselves look occupied. A few even whistled inconspicuously.

Hoshi disappeared into the kitchen the moment she got to the hotel. She was partly trying to hide and partly trying to cover for the fact that Gunther was still out front waiting for Bobby Flay to show up.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials
Hawaiian-style Poke
Kahlua Pig
Lomilomi Salmon
Henri sauce available upon request

[Please mod Gunther today, as Hoshi's replies may be few and far between.]
