Eve was pondering the holidays. She had no idea what she was doing for Thanksgiving and she really needed to decide soon. She also needed to see what, if anything, Adam was doing for the holidays.

She was still pondering this even as she opened the gallery, checked on the exhibit, and settled in behind her desk.

Annja arrived at the store early, and made sure everything was in place. She was starting to really love the store and the things she could find in here.

She moved around the store to tidy things up before picking up the sign to put back in the window.

She was relaxed and ready to help any customers that came in today.

Savannah had reorganized the store after coming in and finding Sean's attempt at it.

After she put everything into some semblance of order, she went back behind the counter. She was making lists.

Lists for what items the squad needed to get ahold of for the dinner they wanted to do.

She was also trying to decide what she was going to do for the Music Club's show.

Nast's Is Open.

Kally seemed to find it funny today to follow Ed around. That is, of course, until Ed caught her by surprise with a bucket of water. Then she seemed to find it hilarious. Well, as hilarious as a horse could find something. The Gig was open.

Despite the valiant efforts of yesterday's chicken soup in trying to fend off the cold, Katchoo had a massive case of the runny-nosed sniffles today, which made her even more cranky than usual.

She was not, however, considering making a used-tissue sculpture, even though she already had the materials to make one. Ew. Instead, she chose to channel her annoyance at the situation into a series of sketches of body parts -- yes, body parts, running, swimming, and otherwise engaged in physical activity.

Yes, even that. Ahem.

Peyton wasn't in that bad of a mood today. In fact with the right kind of music blaring, she actually approached fairly cheerful. The interesting topic of her sketches might have had something to do with that as well.

Helen was moping a bit today so she mostly stayed with the horses, who she found very cheering.

She was easily found should anyone need her or any of The Gig's services.

Millie was quite cheerful today as she bustled around the store getting everything ready to open. Then she chose a good book and curled up in a comfy chair to read till any customers should arrive.

Hannibal hadn't actually been into this particular place yet but, once he'd walked in, he decided he needed to be here more often. It was like walking into the dream almost all teenage boys had at one point or another.

And it didn't make him a nerd or a geek or anything. It made him a boy. Yes, he was firm on this.

But, he wasn't here to geek out. Today, he was here to teach his poor deprived roommate the awesome game of pool. Everyone needed to learn to play pool. It was the game of champions, a great icebreaker and just a really good way to show off.

"I missed places like this," he said, grinning widely.

[For one but it's a public place so open, yes.]

Cold weather meant two things. One, Hoshi was wearing a pair of fingerless gloves to keep her hands warm at the front desk. Two, it was time for some spicy comfort food.

Claire was pretty certain it was illegal to make anyone go to work when it was this cold.

And it was only November.

She ostentatiously wore fingerless gloves and a fuzzy scarf as she stood behind the counter, reading one of the books on photography she'd gotten at the library. She was fascinated by the works of Mathew Brady -- she could swear the soldiers were looking at her, across 150 years.

It was almost a creepy sensation, given she was surrounded by old stuff.

Thursday morning brought Cable a positively philosophical mood. It made him sit down and write to Irene for the first time in several weeks. The process had a habit of lasting days, though, as he put things into greater perspective along the way.

Still, he hadn't failed to put the Open sign on the door, the store was well-lit, and Tether laid prone but alert by the door.

[ open! ]

Today if you'd been in her flat above the shop, you'd have caught Eliza sleeping in a bit late, because who wants to be out in this cold when you can be snuggling under an eiderdown?

Of course, if you'd been in Eliza's flat above the shop and caught her sleeping in, she'd have screamed bloody murder loud enough that she wouldn't even have to ring the police and thanks to her renowned scratching abilities you might be missing both eyes to go with your burst eardrums, so it's best for all concerned that she simply got a lie-in, and opened the shop closer to noon than was entirely respectable.

She made up for that lack of gentility by wearing her gloves even behind the counter. All manners, that, not at all because it was so sodding cold there was an icicle hanging from the wire E in the sign over the door.

The one in the window read:

Kaylee hadn't never tended a bar before, but when she came in for a drink (she wanted one of those pink ones, with the swirly straws!) and the grumpy guy had just shrugged and told her the usual bartender had left when she tried to explain what she wanted, she'd decided she'd just have to take over for the night.

Which was how Kaylee wound up behind the bar, meticulously reading a bartender's guide and occasionally pausing to test different pink drinks she found in the book.

It was late in the afternoon when Jamie showed up for work only to find a grumpy looking Apu glaring at him.

"What? I sent a version of me in. Where'd he go?"

At that moment another duplicate showed up eating an apple.

"Where they hell were you?" Jamie demanded.

The duplicate shrugged. "I got a craving for Honey Crisp apples. So I made a dupe to take my place."

"And just where the hell is he?" Jamie asked.

The duplicate shrugged and took another bite of his apple just as another duplicate showed up.

"And where the hell were you?" Jamie demanded.

"In line to get tickets to that vampire movie," he said with a grin.

"You couldn't have gotten them online?"

"What's the big deal? I made a dupe to take my place."

Jamie groaned. "And where did he-"

"Sorry guys," the final duplicate said wandering into the room. "I was watching the reruns of Top Chef."

Jamie sighed. Turtle was so going to kill him. "Okay. It's official. I loathe myself."

[Bah. Late. BAH! No OCD.]

It was one thing, really, to try and build a card house.

It was another thing, seriously, to try and build a sketchbook house. In some ways, Viki found, it actually worked better. The books were thicker and thus, in theory, able to hold more and keep their balance longer. None of that seemed to make them any more inclined to continue to stand when she stacked (carefully!) more on top of them unfortunately. They had a marked tendency to collapse.

...and sketchbooks made quite an impressive crash when they all came down.

Viki laughed.
