Eager to get a sense of normalcy after a couple of days under the weather, Michael flips the sign from "closed" to "open" and starts rearranging the holiday displays Ben had put up in his absence.

Aziraphale's Rare Books, Thursday.

Kiki opens the shop in the morning.

In her down time, Kiki is still assiduously studying a spell book.

Finally, rubbing her hands together, she nervously faces the picture window at the front of the shop and concentrates, muttering under her breath. She grins widely when a festive evergreen garland materializes slowly, twining decoratively around the window.

Kiki frowns. Instead of the sprigs of cheery red hollyberries she had intended to have created, sprinkled tastefully throughout the garland, there hangs instead several glaringly chartreuse and purple avocados. And that hanging from the corner is definitely a cantaloupe. Having not yet mastered the more tricky reversal of the spell, Kiki sighs, hands on her hips, then pulls over a chair, climbs up on it, and starts pulling down the avocados. Mundane clean-up will have to do.

"I hope Mr. Aziraphale and Mr. Crowley like guacamole," she mutters to herself. "So much for festive holiday decor."

EDIT: Mr. Aziraphale is decidedly better at getting rid of abnormally-colored avocados than Kiki is. There are no more avocados appearing from nowhere, but there might be the odd one or two still rolling about.

Red's Is Open

Still groggy from the cold medicine, Red was feeling at least well enough to open the shop. He wouldn't be doing any inking that day, afraid he was contagious and the last thing he needed was to pass on anything to a client.

After the drinking and stair descending lesson yesterday, the cubs were in quite good spirits and sat by the front window in the hopes their new friend would come by again, their ears flattening in disappointment whenever someone came in and it wasn't him.

Kawalsky wasn't really feeling up to a full practice session. He was here anyway, skating around, waiting for those who were going to show up this week.

Wonka Sweets Shoppe - OPEN

Willy Wonka opens the shop early today. He's been up since five in the morning, moving his chrizakuhyulestice holiday sweets into the shop. He has perhaps been a little over eager or sleepy and has not noticed that among the sweets are his more experimental ones.

He flips the sign over, unlocks the door and goes to wait optimistically behind the counter. Perhaps later Tonks will drop by.

In the window hangs his new poster.

Blood Gulch Arms - Thursday (NFB)

Her mood finally a bit better, but not by much, Tex opens up the shop today. She needs to go see Zhaan and make sure she's good to wear her armour again. She knows the interface is still sensitive, but this is going to drive her insane. Her only comfort is that no one has come up to her yet to laugh at her behaviour on Thanksgiving.

The NPC-run Chinese restaurant is cheerful, with Chinese characters painted in red on the walls and tables set with the ubiquitous Chinese Zodiac placemats. Lanterns sway overhead as the hostess ushers Angela and Marty to a booth in the back.

The Dive is Allllll decked out for the holidays.
There's a big tree in one corner, a classic creche on the shelf high on the wall, a Holy Family done as a single statue in delft blue glaze behind the register, a couple of light-up reindeer appear to be grazing at the pastry case and a 5' animated Santa that boogies to Jingle Bells greets the customers. Lights and garland are everywhere, and a big sprig of mistletoe hangs in the archway between the diner and the shop.

Thursday, after class: Walkabout.

After class, Duce headed into town to do some errands. She had a cellphone to replace. She was also hoping to find Bagoas. She'd heard he had a fight with Han during Study Hall and left. She hadn't seen him in AbPsyche class, so was hoping maybe he was hanging out somewhere in town. Having no real idea of where to look, but being optimistic that the island was only so big, she began popping into random stores on her way to and from the cellular dealer.

Her experience at the dealer wasn't optimal. After patiently explaining what she wanted to the clerk, she was presented with phones that were.. ugly. Duce frowned at the bulky things, "Look, we just want a phone. No camera. No web browser. No mp3 player. Our PDA does all that." The sales drone began to babble at her with an artificial smile, "No, we do not want to combine our PDA with our phone. What do you mean, 'why'? Because if we drop the phone in the toilet, then we lose all our PDA data as well. Plus, our PDA has better resolution or memory than any phone on the market. We're also leery of downloading the contents of our phone to any computer anywhere. Trust us, we did the research. We. Just. Want. A. Phone."

It didn't go well. She stared at the sales drone and idly wondered about bringing the remains of her old phone to the Callynanders FixIt place. Or something.

Thursday Night at the Perk

Tonight's "CFS: Criminal Forensic Scientists" is a rerun, and she isn't supposed to be alone...but she'll be damned if she's going to hide away in her house. She figures some place busy and bright like the Perk will be safe enough, so she shop-hops so she's always around people until she gets there. Sitting down with a latte and a book, she's just...quiet.

Gob was at the booth again. He looked pretty nervous. It seemed almost as if he was half-expecting a hitman from the Alliance of Magicians to appear, turn a sledgehammer into a crocodile, and destroy his shop.

Thursday night after his Arthurian Traditions class, Belthazor walked Phoebe to their room. She was still upset after her encounter with her younger sister in study hall, but she insisted he go out that evening like he had planned. So after giving her a comforting hug, he walked down the hall to #408, his old room, and knocked on the door.

Lindsey answered the door. "So where are we going?" he asked.

"It's a surprise," Bel said, stepping inside the room and shutting the door.

Lindsey cast a protective glance at his new mini-fridge, then looked back at Belthazor. "Going to tell me her name at least?"

"I'll let her make the introductions," Bel said. "I've never shimmered you anywhere, have I?" He grinned at Lindsey. "First time may make you a little sick. Hold on to your lunch."

"What?" Lindsey started to say as Bel took hold of his arm and shimmered out of the room. When they reappeared before a closed door in a windowless corridor, he staggered and fell against the wall, clutching his stomach. "I think I'm going to throw up," he muttered, glaring at Bel.

"That'll really impress the lady," Bel snickered. He was nice enough to give Lindsey a minute to recover so he didn't totally embarrass himself, then knocked on the door.

A walk in the park Thursday evening

After his supper at Luke's, Aaron went for a walk in the park. He thought it was probably the safest place for him to be. His hands had acted up this morning, so he hadn't gone in to work and it had been an effort not to casually stroll by the school grounds or by Chaucer's every half hour.

He was mentally swearing at himself and chastising himself for being a big idiot. During one of the passes close to town, he ducked into a coffee shop to get a cup of coffee. He held that in his hands as if leeching the warmth from the paper cup, but in reality, it was just a way to keep his mind occupied with the task of holding onto something.

Walking down by the pond, he stared into the dark, calm water for awhile.
