Michael opens the shop, feeling a little better than he had the day before. Ben had spent the night wrapped around him, and it had been comforting to Michael.

The sign proclaiming "Salsa Sale" was still up, with jars stacked beneath it. Another sign stating "10% off -- Parents' Weekend Special" had been added, and there were a stack of Inara's business cards on the counter.

A unmarked police car with New York plates pulls in front of the police department and the familiar figures of Lenny Briscoe and Mike Logan get out of the car and stretch.

"Jeez, look at this dump, Mike. We leave for a couple of weeks and the entire department looks like it did after the Zombie attack." Lenny moans.

"Good thing we're only here for parents weekend," says Mike, wondering if Principal Connor would hopefully beat him up again be dropping the station.

Red was up all night with the town staff getting this ready for distribution Friday. Finished, the coupon sheets are distributed at the Welcome Center in town and to all businesses interested in taking them to pass along to their customers.

Fandom Town Parents Day Weekend Activities

In addition to our coupons, several of our businesses are operating on extended hours to accomodate parents and students during the weekend.

The Efferton Manor is opening their doors on Sunday night, hosting a Halloween Ball. Dinner, drinks and entertainment are provided free of charge. Come party and join in the costume contest.

First Local Bank of Fandom Town is able to meet all your currency exchange needs and will be open on Saturday to accomodate any business.

Spike's Pub will be open at noon on Saturday and will be assisting with the festivities at the Efferton Manor on Sunday.

The Museum of History and Culture and Rare Items is also offering extended tour hours. Contact the curator for details.

Blood Gulch Arms will be open on Saturday from 10:00-19:00 for Parents weekend

She hung up the phone. Damn it. Stupid Senior Partners and their needing to have their fingers directly inside the raging pulse of the next apocalypse. Looked like Darla was going to be her new legal intern, whether she wanted it or not.

Wednesday Addams of Efferton Manor has put out a call for donations to the Halloween Ball Costume Party prize. If you can donate something to help promote your business, please drop me a note with the description. We’ll need to have the list ready by Saturday night to present to Wednesday on Sunday.

Powders Laundrette is polling interest in expanding their business to dry cleaning and if it would be a service the Town would like to have. Make sure to comment if you think it’s a good idea or not.

A nice morning in Fandom Town

It was a nice morning when Salmoneus stepped outside. He looked once more in the box for messages, then shrugged and just stood on the porch for a moment. It was peaceful, and he reflected that he really didn’t mind being in fandom town. Zombies notwithstanding, he’d had a good time so far and he was looking forward to getting out a little more.

That afternoon he was taking the Harpy out to the park. Since watching Medusa communicate with her, Salmoneus had tried to be a little more careful with her needs. He even left a nightlight on near the vault and put a little stuffed animal by her bed. The banker was looking forward to the time outside himself.

But first, he had a bank to run. After all, there would be parents from the school in today, and that meant more customers for fleecing. With a smile, he turned and hung up the new announcement.

Powders is OPEN, as always

Around mid-afternoon, Johnny appears at the front window of Powders, carrying a large sign, a stepladder and the tools and hardware necessary for suspending the sign so that it can be seen from the street. He sets up the ladder, climbs it and sets about screwing the mounting hardware into the wall. Then he attaches a piece of fishing line to the top two corners of back of the sign, climbs back up the ladder with it and finishes hanging the entire affair. After putting away the ladder, he throws a jacket on over the teeshirt he's been working in and walks outside to give his handiwork a look from the perspective from which it's meant to be viewed. If one knows the signs to look for, one would realise that he's really quite pleased.

He admires the chocolate village for a moment, and makes a mental note to add a tie to the tiny chocolate Mayor. As far as Wonka was concerned, the Town Hall meeting had been a stunning success. He sat down behind the counter, absently eating tiny chocolate balls while waiting for either a customer or Tonks to appear.

The Haven was awash with the usual comforting soft light. The clutter had been straightened somewhat. The few boxes that had remained had been completely unpacked and cleared away. A keen eye would notice that the lowest shelves in the back of the bookstore, the ones that contained all the prank items, had new merchandise including Ton-Tongue Toffees, Mister Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start, No Heat Fireworks and the like.

As always, the public computers were on for anyone to use, though they were idling. The shop was perfumed by herbal teas and fresh coffee, mingled with the scent of still-warm pastries and rich, almost intoxicating brownies. Today, however, saucer-sized cookies had joined the mix.

Quistis herself sat neatly at a table not too far from the cafe counter, looking in much better shape than she had several days ago. Her expression was tranquil, slightly smiling. She looked approachable as she waited for a customer to show up, occasionally taking a sip of tea or a small bite of a large pastry.

Friday afternoon: walking in the woods.

Leaving a note for her roommates, Duce heads out into the woods to walk and think. Alex had made a lot of very valid points in the conversation the other night, and she was mulling them over.

Kicking through the crisp leaves, she tracked the squirrels as they ran around, smiling slightly as the furry little rodents gathered fallen nuts and chased each other through the leaves.

She had no goal in mind, just.. wandering to clear her head.

Welcome to Fandom, Population: You - Dawn Friday morning

So this was Fandom.

Gordon Bombay adjusted the bag strap on his shoulder and shook his head at the sign on the ground. Moving here was a big decision. After Hans' funeral, Gordon knew that he couldn't stay in Minneapolis anymore. Hans was gone. The kids were all grown up and had gone off to college or were working full time now. Most of them had hockey scholarships. Fulton Reed had been one of the first to get a scholarship, but in his sophomore year a knee injury took away his chance to play professional or even college hockey again. Gordon gave him a job and then Fulton decided to follow him to Fandom.

He headed through town. It was nice and quiet at dawn. The town was peaceful. Yeah, he could settle here, at least for a while.

Gordon headed towards the hockey rink. Fulton had done a good job of getting the place running while he finished up with Hans' estate. They were ready to open this afternoon. Time would tell if moving here was a good idea or a bad idea.
